{"id":130746,"date":"2024-02-13T09:05:42","date_gmt":"2024-02-13T09:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mby.com\/?p=130746"},"modified":"2024-02-13T09:08:06","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T09:08:06","slug":"pursuits-new-for-miami-pursuit-dc-306-perfects-the-dual-console-concept","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mby.com\/boat-shows-and-events\/pursuits-new-for-miami-pursuit-dc-306-perfects-the-dual-console-concept-130746","title":{"rendered":"Pursuit's new-for-Miami Pursuit DC 306 perfects the dual-console concept"},"content":"Rather than just building something with the most amount of rooms, the ethos of the 164ft Oceanfast superyacht <em>Thunder<\/em> was to build something that makes you go 'Wow!' when you walk on board, and then does it again when the captain hits the throttles!\r\n\r\nBuilt in 1998 to a design by the late, great Jon Bannenberg, the brief was to create a 50m <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mby.com\/tag\/superyachts\">superyacht<\/a> with six cabins that could go from Saint Tropez to Portofino in a day.\r\n\r\nTo that end, she was fitted with a pair of 2,960hp MTU V16 engines, paired to Kamewa water jets and gas turbines, giving a top speed of 34 knots.\r\n\r\nPerhaps predictably, that incredible performance comes at a cost in terms of fuel consumption - a whopping 2,750lph!\r\n\r\nAs if that wasn\u2019t impressive enough, the interior of <em>Thunder<\/em> is even more remarkable.
